Define Stage
The Define Stage
The Define stage is where you clarify the problem based on user research. You create personas, problem statements, and goals to focus on the key issues users face. This stage sets the direction for the design, ensuring it addresses real needs and aligns with business goals.
Problem Statement
The problem: Users like Ruby struggle to manage finances with busy schedules. They need a simple tool to track expenses, manage budgets, and understand spending. Solving this helps users break the debt cycle and secure a better financial future.
Persona
To create Ruby’s persona, I focused on challenges like debt, time constraints, and the need for simple financial management. Ruby, a marketing manager, struggles with work-life balance and needs a straightforward tool to improve her credit score and manage finances. She represents professionals who need an intuitive solution to take control of their finances. Now, let’s meet the user group Ruby belongs to.
User Group
The user group, represented by personas like Joseph, Leah, Elliot, Zareen, Alfie, and Reena, faces the challenge of managing finances with busy lives and limited financial literacy. They need a simple, intuitive solution to improve credit scores, track expenses, and make informed decisions. Whether students or professionals, they seek an efficient way to balance responsibilities and take control of their financial future.
Empathy Map
To further understand users' struggles, I created an empathy map. Many feel overwhelmed by complex financial terms and the challenge of balancing life and money. They want a simple, user-friendly tool to make informed decisions without the added stress. This empathy map guides the design process, ensuring the solution is intuitive, reduces stress, and helps users gain control over their finances.
