Branding usually brings companies or products to mind, but have you ever considered city branding?For my branding and promotion course, I was tasked with rebranding an existing brand. Instead of choosing a company or service, I decided to take on a personal challenge and brand my hometown, Bhopal. Growing up as a bit of a nomad, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve had to explain where Bhopal is. The conversation would often circle back to the tragic gas tragedy or the simple fact that many know very little about Bhopal.That got me thinking. Bhopal is so much more than its past—it’s a city with breathtaking lakes, a rich cultural heritage, and immense potential. Yet, it rarely gets the recognition it deserves. So, I set out to tell a new story for Bhopal, one that captures its beauty, vibrancy, and promise through a fresh branding identity.This project is my way of shining a light on the Bhopal I know and love.
