I accept this life standing!

Hey, Guys!

This artwork was inspired by the song "Standing!" ("Стоя!") performed by Sofya Babich and written by Oleg Vladi.

Sofya Babich is a Russian singer diagnosed with cerebral palsy (ДЦП). Despite her physical limitations, her willpower and determination to live a full, meaningful life inspire and amaze countless people. When Sofya sings, it makes you want to live — people like her seem to light the way for those lost in their own struggles and remind us that hope and strength are always within reach.

While working on this illustration, I thought about resilience and overcoming challenges. The girl standing up and reaching for the bird symbolizes freedom, hope, and inner strength — the ability to rise above limitations and find healing, both physically and emotionally. The empty wheelchair represents struggles left behind, while the bird flying high embodies the dreams and aspirations we all hold dear.

This artwork is dedicated to everyone who keeps moving forward, no matter how difficult the journey may be.

Part of the song "Standing!"

Look at me: I’m going against the grain

In weightlessness, above the ground

Two wings behind my back

Every moment, every step

I CAN! I MUST!

Now I understand who I am

I accept this life standing!
