Daily UI - 001 - Sign up

Hello, everyone! It’s been a while since my last Dribbble shot. 😄

Over the past few years, I’ve been deeply involved in projects for mobile and web products, as well as design systems. To put some of these learnings into practice, I decided to revisit and redesign a few of my earlier Daily UI exercises, incorporating everything I’ve learned so far. I thought it would be a fun and rewarding way to see my growth. 😊

Let me know what you think!

About this shot

Prompt: Create a sign up page, modal, form, or app screen related to signing up for something. It could be for a volunteer event, contest registration, a giveaway, or anything you can image.

Previous Design: Back in 2017, I designed a simple mobile screen with three text fields: username, password, and password confirmation. Looking back now (lol), I can see issues with contrast and the text fields’ usability. It’s unclear how they’d behave in different states like focused, filled, or disabled.

Redesign: This time, I took a different approach and added an extra step before the sign-up flow. For instance, if a user selects the "Continue with email" option, the app validates whether that email is already in use and directs them to the appropriate flow. returning users proceed to the sign-in screen, while new users are taken to the sign-up screen. In addition, I envisioned a more complex sign-up flow, divided into steps to collect user information. I chose not to design the entire journey, focusing on the logic behind the interactions, but I tried to clarify how the flow behaves by specifying the current step the user is in and what the next step in the sign-up process will be.
