Sisal: The Oracle - User-Centered Lottery App
In this project, I worked as the Lead UX Designer and UX Researcher on a team of five to create Sisal: The Oracle, a user-centric lottery app designed to enhance the waiting experience for users, particularly those with superstitious beliefs, and make it more engaging and emotionally positive.
Key Solutions
User-Centered Design Approach: We prioritized user needs through extensive research, including interviews and ethnography.
Multiple Prediction Methods: Users could choose lucky numbers based on dreams, horoscopes, or the Napolitan Smorfia. Features like Lucky Mix and Frequent Numbers were added, along with "La Sisalina," a guide to improve usability.
Rebranding & Visual Appeal: We revamped the app’s visual identity to resonate with superstitious users.
Waiting and Winning: The Waiting and Winning feature ensures users win something—coins or rewards—while waiting for results, reducing the emotional impact of frequent losses.
Sisal: The Oracle improves the lottery experience by addressing emotional challenges, providing engaging features, and ensuring a smooth transition from retail to digital. The app offers a more rewarding and emotionally positive experience, particularly for users who engage with the lottery as both a source of entertainment and a superstitious practice.
