As a User Experience Designer, I played a key role in shaping the visual language of the BMO Design System, ensuring consistency and clarity across digital products. My contributions focused on illustration, iconography, and typography, crafting a cohesive and scalable visual component system that enhances usability and brand identity.

Illustrations

Created a distinctive and comprehensive illustration system using metaphors that brings BMO’s brand to life, making financial experiences more engaging and approachable. Each illustration was thoughtfully designed to reinforce clarity, accessibility, and user connection, transforming complex concepts into visually intuitive narratives. By developing a scalable and flexible framework, I empowered teams to craft cohesive, on-brand experiences that resonate with users across BMO’s digital ecosystem.

Iconography

Created a distinctive and scalable icon system using metaphors that brings clarity, consistency, and personality to BMO’s digital experiences. Each icon was meticulously designed to be visually impactful, highly recognizable, and accessible, ensuring seamless communication across platforms. By establishing a strong design framework, I enabled teams to maintain brand cohesion while allowing flexibility for future growth. The result is a versatile, pixel-perfect icon library that enhances usability and reinforces BMO’s identity across its digital ecosystem.

Collaboration

Through close collaboration with product teams, developers, and stakeholders, I helped elevate the BMO Design System into a powerful, scalable toolkit that streamlines workflows and enhances design consistency. By refining visual components and establishing clear guidelines, I enabled teams to craft seamless, high-quality experiences that align with BMO’s brand identity.

Through user-centered design principles, I led the creation of intuitive, accessible components that were easy to implement and contributed to the seamless experience users expect from top financial institutions. The final system helped streamline the design process, enabling faster prototyping and more efficient collaboration between teams, ultimately leading to a more consistent and cohesive product offering for clients.
