Seamless Pattern
This project is a real client design job for Frankston City Council through Chisholm Frankston. The brief requested that we create a seamless pattern as a mural for the windows of vacant shops, aimed at enhancing and improving the appearance of the shopfronts while they are on the market to be leased. The theme was to reflect the life and landscape of Frankston. The first things that came to mind were people, dogs, and exercise.
There are also many cyclists who pass through Frankston, so I included a variety of dogs and bikes, allowing viewers to point out the dog breed they have at home. This design is intended to bring playful and happy energy to Frankston.
After developing the dogs and bikes idea, I wanted to create something different that would relate to the coastal views of Frankston. I thought that many people would draw inspiration from the beach, so I focused on the native flowers along the boardwalk in Frankston. I chose a blue-green background to represent the fresh air along the beautiful Frankston beach and the pure nature of the area.
Since this is a seamless pattern, I decided to create washi tape and wrapping paper to show the potential for creating stationery products.
This was one of two designs that I made for this project.
