Layout – Magazine Pages
We were asked to create two highly typographical editorial spreads. These two spreads needed to use the same information and images but should be completely different in layout. The theme was a global issue, such as fast fashion, single-use plastics, and so on.
I chose to focus on the danger of losing indigenous languages. Specifically, I focused on the Polynesian Islands, which consist of many small tribes and islands with rich cultures and languages, but these are being overtaken by dominant countries.
Since this project was about global issues, I made the main portrait look very serious. However, I added a lot of colorful, vibrant plants and a bird to represent the rich culture and energy of the Polynesian Islands.
