Health Payer Publication UI Design

AmeriHealth Caritas, a leader in Medicare and Medicaid, aimed to transform their thought leadership content into an engaging digital experience. They needed a solution to integrate various media and turn their print magazine into an interactive format. Partnering with us, they launched "In Reach," a digital platform that met these needs and resonated with their investors and stakeholders.

The challenge was creating immersive and visually appealing user experience for their audience, moving away from traditional print media. Additionally, the solution needed to be scalable, allowing for easy updating and expansion of content as new topics emerged in the healthcare landscape. Furthermore, they wanted a seamless conversion of their print magazine into an engaging UI design that would resonate with their audience online.

The solution:

As the lead UI designer and front-end engineer, I took ownership of the design and development of In Reach, a forward-thinking digital hub tailored to meet the unique needs of AmeriHealth Caritas. The platform was built with both user experience and scalability in mind, incorporating several key features:

  • Scalable Content Hub: I led the design of a flexible, adaptable platform capable of seamlessly integrating a wide variety of content types—ranging from articles and images to videos and podcasts—into a unified, immersive experience. The goal was to create a space that could evolve alongside the organization's growing content needs.

  • Visually Engaging Design: We placed a strong emphasis on aesthetics, crafting an interface that was not only functional but also visually captivating. By combining large visuals with a clean, intuitive design, we created an experience that felt more like exploring a beautifully designed magazine than navigating a typical website.

  • Enhanced Search & Navigation: A core part of the user experience was making content easily discoverable. We implemented a robust search and navigation system that enabled users to quickly find content by topic, title, or format—ensuring fast, frictionless access to the information they needed.

  • Print-to-Digital Transformation: The digital redesign of In Reach allowed us to seamlessly transition from a print publication to an engaging, interactive digital experience. By maintaining the brand's identity while embracing new opportunities for digital engagement, we were able to expand the reach of the magazine and better serve a broader audience.
