Hard Candy Label Design

The final of the set of 5 label designs for the crew over at Steam Masters, Hard Candy was intended to be the grungiest of the range of products, drawing inspiration from hard rock band lettering design, along with a laid-back scythe-wielding mascot. The entirety of this design, bar the back-label disclaimers and ingredients of course, was crafted by hand for that signature rough and edgy illustration style and personality 🤘

Interweaving the smoke into this illustration was my favourite part of the concept development, only seconded by the finally lettering itself which were both instrumental in redefining this original idea into the grungy end-result we loved so much about this label design.

While we explored various colour combinations once the design was vectored and we nailed down the contrast we wanted in the overall look-and-feel, it was clear the red was a standout winner in the end.
