Fogg’s Famous Butter Custard Label Design

With heavy inspiration from the classic steampunk generation of yester-millenia, Fogg’s Famous Butter Custard draws influence from elements of hand-drawn retro design work and etching-style shading techniques.

One of the more complicated and time-consuming illustrations in the set of 5 I designed for the crew over at Steam Masters, Fogg’s was a great deal of fun to put together 🕵🏻‍♂️

After considerable positioning and hand lettering work, we created a custom logotype that drew inspiration from 19th Century Lettering practices, coupled with an etched illustration style to create a holistic design that could pass for something you might see in a packaging museum.

And once applied in colour and vector, the contrast and personality of the product started to really come through.

All-in-all a fun label design I look forward to replicate stylistically again.
