I’m back after a year of heads-down work, and I’m thrilled to finally introduce Seam Social to this amazing community of designers.

Seam is a new kind of social network that lets people create and share collections built with open-source mini-apps coded by our talented community. These mini-apps give users endless ways to express themselves, from artwork and playlists to unique creative tools.

The profiles on Seam are designed for full self-expression—they allow you to present who you are and showcase different facets of your personality through custom collections. Each collection can be tailored with unique backgrounds, GIFs, and colors, making it a personal, fun space.

We’ve gone through countless iterations to bring this vision to life, and we’re now thrilled to see hundreds of users adding their voices to Seam. From hackathons to design challenges at schools across the U.S., our community has built a beautiful, collaborative environment.

Seam and all its design components—from the logo to the typography and color palette—are crafted to enhance the user experience, with a simple UI that lets content take center stage.

Mini-apps 👾

One of the things that makes Seam Social truly unique is our mini-app ecosystem. The way people post on Seam is powered by open-source mini-apps, with contributions from developers worldwide. These mini-apps open up infinite ways to create, interact, and express on the platform, making Seam a vibrant community that goes beyond our internal team of four.

Our developer community is constantly submitting new mini-app ideas, bringing fresh and creative ways for users to post and connect on Seam. This collaborative spirit is what makes Seam feel like a global community—a place where everyone can contribute and find inspiration.
