Type Noise Infographic Timeline

While in graduate school I created this infographic titled "Type Noise: Making Sense of Typography in a time of Digital Proliferation." At the time I was learning a lot about typography as well as online type foundries and was interested in exploring how many fonts are actually available for download, and how that compared the early era of digital typography. The timeline shows the correlation between the technology boom of desktop publishing in the 1980s with the explosion of typefaces available.
