MoglyphFX faked 3D extrusion along path
Simple yet cool effect obtained with my MoglyphFX procedural cloning and animation toolset for After Effects!
By cloning a lot of similar shapes with a thin black outline stroke and white fill along a path (thanks to the Spline Cloner "Count" mode with its "Align clones" option unchecked), we can kind of recreate what is knows as "Sweep Nurbs" in Cinema4D, or "Staggered Duplicator on Path" in Cavalry!
This project will be available for any user of MoglyphFX in the upcoming version (coming before end of the year), to be tweaked for their needs :)
Just change the Font and the Glyph number on top of the Cloner's Effect to obtain different kind of extrusions, and select any other Shape layer that contains a path in the "Spline Mask from" dropdown menu (or tweak the existing one) to adapt the overall shape for your needs. The Time Effector makes the shape rotating around the path in a perpetual way, but you can also play with other Effectors to create other interesting animations, like the Formula Effector to create wavy rotations or the Step Effector to make the Extrusion look like it is "twisting".
