'Trek' - Inktober 10/6
Notes on the design
Inktober 10/6 - 'Trek'
Day 6 of the @jakeparker Inktober Challenge.
Sketched in 4H pencil, inked with Micron and Sharpie, digitized in Procreate.
This drawing was rendered from a composite of typical scenes around our day-to-day household with two young kids. I decided to keep the style realistic to depict the all the various objects and obstacles you might encounter/trip over/impale your foot on.
I'm working on perspective drawing a bit more, particularly in bird's eye view... or in this case, Dad's eye view, looking down at the chaos du jour. I distorted and stretched the hallway a bit to slightly exaggerate the drama of the image's story.
The story behind the piece
I initially thought of doing some epic, cinematic-type scene of a hero's quest, which is my inclination when envisioning a trek.
However, I ended up taking a more playful and sarcastic (yet no less dangerous!) approach to the prompt 'Trek.'
On any given day as a Dad with little kids, it is truly a perilous journey to navigate rooms and hallways to get out of the house on-time and in one piece.
