Designing a brand with paper and stamps

I created this early-stage brand design concept for a startup tackling agriculture logistics. My client wanted the brand to feel authentic — the ag industry is built on relationships, so they wanted their brand to feel approachable.

For this concept, I created stamps out of basswood with some of the standard iconography used throughout their software — you might recognize them from FontAwesome.

Basswood icons glued to a piece of wood in the process of creating stamps.

From there, I made several versions of each stamp using a stamp pad and paper, scanned them into Affinity Photo, and removed the backgrounds. I'm a printmaker in my spare time, so I wanted to achieve an authentic stamp-like look.

I'm pleased with how this proposed concept turned out, and wish I could have continued to explore it further. Ultimately, the client chose to go another route.
