Arete Shopping Journal — AI properties

Our final post for #Arete will be a discussion of principles of designing for #ArtificialIntelligence.

As we've discussed elsewhere — specifically in #GetUX 04 about #GenerativeAI principles — designing interfaces for artificial intelligence can be a new paradigm to think about. IBM definitely thinks so, as earlier this year they released a paper about design principles for designing generative AI.One of those principles is that users are calibrated for appropriate levels of trust, especially in the reliability of the AI.

This means things like putting disclaimers, small amounts of friction, and even modifying marketing copy to reach user expectations. This is why #Arete (and the other AI apps out there) have been putting disclaimers like the one pictured here as a best practice.
