Semi Elliptical Hall Table

This semi-elliptical hall table is made from African Mahogany and was handcrafted in our Colorado Design Studio.  The tabletop is gilded with silver leaf, followed by a sulfur potash patina to introduce contrasting colors and an aged effect. The silver leaf is then protected with multiple coats of polyurethane.

The outer rim consists of segmented mahogany pieces. Since the tabletop is an oval rather than a perfect circle, each segment was carefully cut to specific lengths and angles from the center to the edge to achieve the oval shape.

The semi-elliptical theme continues with the legs, which feature a semi-elliptical front that tapers to a smaller oval-shaped foot. Each leg was meticulously hand-shaped using a spokeshave. For attachment, the legs were scribed to match both the curve of the apron and the top and were secured from behind with dowels.
