Daily UI challenge 006-User profile

Hey everyone! 😊

Does my Daily UI challenge look familiar? 😄

That’s right—Spotify was definitely my inspiration! Lately, I’ve been using the app a lot and absolutely love their UI, so I thought it’d be fun to try recreating their user profile page.

One thing that really stood out to me while working on this was how Spotify prioritizes showing relevant content, like artists and songs of the month, right away. They also have a fixed sidebar menu, which is super helpful for keeping users oriented and aware of what they can do next.

But the biggest lesson I took from this challenge was understanding progressive disclosure. It’s a UI technique that reveals information gradually to manage complexity. Instead of showing every option or feature upfront, you start with the essentials and reveal more as the user interacts with the design. For example, when you hover over an artist, the play button appears. Or, if you hover over a top song of the month, an option to add it to favorites is revealed, with a neat little meatball menu for even more options. Really fun, huh?!

Let me know how I did!
