I’m excited to share a recent project I worked on for Loriana, a yoga instructor who also has a background in project management for big brands like Yamaha. Loriana’s journey into yoga started as a way to decompress, and it grew into a passion that she now shares with others through her business. She reached out to me to redesign her Squarespace site, which she had initially created herself. Here’s how we brought her vision to life!

Project Overview

Loriana wasn’t entirely sure what she wanted, so we kicked things off with a discovery call where we dug deep into her story. We talked about her transition into yoga, her empathetic nature, and how teaching yoga became a way for her to share what she’s learned. My goal was to create a website that reflected the calming and rejuvenating experience she offers her clients.

Research and Inspiration

To get started, I did some research on the yoga niche and took a look at her competitors to get a feel for the landscape. I also asked Loriana to share some inspiration—colors, images, and designs that she felt connected to. This gave me a solid foundation to start the design process with her vision in mind.

Design and Iteration

With all the insights in hand, I sketched out a few ideas and wireframes for the landing page. I incorporated elements that Loriana liked, such as a video in the hero section, along with her preferred colors, images, and typography. But after reviewing the initial designs, Loriana felt that the site didn’t quite capture the essence of how she wanted to be represented.

That’s when I decided to dive deeper into the psychology of UX. This project became a journey of discovery for both Loriana and me. Sometimes, it’s through collaboration that we learn more about who we are and who we aspire to be. And that’s where the magic happens! After some more conversations with Loriana, I pivoted the design approach. I switched from a darker theme to a lighter, more airy look, adjusted the typography, fine-tuned the color palette, and added smooth transitions to bring the site to life.

Final Design

The end result? A beautiful, serene website that truly reflects Loriana’s brand. The site now features a cohesive design across the landing page, events, services, about, and contact pages. The light and airy vibe, combined with subtle animations, creates a welcoming atmosphere that mirrors Loriana’s calming and empathetic teaching style. Also responsive among all devices!
