Cinema 4D Basecamp

In 2020, I embarked on an enriching journey through the Cinema 4D Basecamp class offered by the School of Motion. This course provided a comprehensive foundation in Cinema 4D, covering essential skills such as modeling, texturing, lighting, and animation. Each project within the course challenged me to apply these skills in various creative contexts. Below are detailed descriptions of the projects I completed, each showcasing a different aspect of my learning and growth in 3D motion design.

Creative Foundations

In 2020, as part of the Cinema 4D Basecamp class with the School of Motion, I created a series of art pieces early in the course. These frames involved extensive work in modeling, texturing, and lighting. This foundational project allowed me to experiment with different techniques and set the stage for more complex animations.

It's a Trap

In this scene, I followed a similar process of texturing, lighting, and animating pre-provided assets. I focused on applying the animation principles of squash and stretch, dedicating significant time to ensure the movements were fluid and dynamic. This project highlighted the importance of these principles in creating engaging animations.

Up in the Air

This project required me to light, texture, and animate given assets, with a particular focus on animating along a spline path. This technique allowed for smooth and precise movements, making it easier to manipulate objects within the 3D space. The result was a seamless and visually appealing animation.

Pixels

For this project, I animated a Tetris-inspired scene. Provided with 3D assets, my tasks included texturing, lighting, and animating both the camera and elements within the scene. Experimenting with various camera focal lengths added a layer of depth and interest to the animation, enhancing the overall visual impact.

Rock Em Sock Em

As one of the final projects in the class, this scene involved a fully baked 3D environment. I animated everything from start to finish, with a strong emphasis on camera movements and scene composition. This project encapsulated all the skills I had developed throughout the course, resulting in a dynamic and polished final piece.
