Galliano: embracing the spirit of cocktails

Challenge

Galliano is a liqueur brand that is often drunk in combination with coffee. Galliano stands for enjoying the company of friends, a delicious cocktail or liqueur after dinner. We translated this into a website. In addition, there was a need to show which cocktails can be made. Finally, it was important that international visitors would end up at the right sales outlets.

Brand experience

The website focuses on the visual material that parent company Bols had available. Using high-quality videos and images, we brought the cocktails and drinks to life. This was supplemented with sketches of the spices used in the liqueurs.

Cocktail and product database

We set up a database for cocktails and their related products. In this way, cocktails and products could be linked to each other. This makes it easy to show related cocktails for each product. In addition, accessories like glasses and shakers are linked and cocktail recipes can be shared on social media.

Location-specific content

The Galliano website is aimed at an international audience. That’s why we use the user’s location to show the right content. For example, cocktail recipes in fluid oz are shown for US visitors. We also show relevant sales channels based on location. For example, in the Netherlands, it links to the Bols shop and in Sweden, it links to the state-owned company, where the government has a monopoly on the sale of spirits.
