Sum play - Didactic toolset for MBO

Summa college; the largest MBO school in the south was looking for ways to make their education more active. They came to us to use the combination of technology and design to create a toolset for their students.

The bridge between online and offline.

To connect the physical card game and the online environment, we created SummAR. This mobile app uses the camera to recognize the game cards and keep track of the score. Besides the application for Summplay, more applications of the SummAR scanner have been developed to activate Summa College students.

Project-based learning with SummWise

When you talk about activating education, you quickly end up with project-based learning. Letting students loose on a particular topic releases much more ownership and creativity. We created SummWise, which consists of a stack of activity tiles and an online platform. On the platform, teachers can create projects, add their own activities or draw inspiration from a library of activities. This way, teachers can design and share projects in an accessible and clear way. Students go through the project with a visual and intuitive interface that is directly accessible from their phones. This allows them to simply and quickly submit evidence in the form of photos and videos. The instructor tracks progress and provides face-to-face feedback on the process in class.

Playful learning with Summplay

With SummPlay, you can make any theory lesson more interactive and effective. Several apps already exist for quizzing the class, but with SummPlay, the game element is deepened and you hold the attention of the class even better. In the online environment, the teacher sets the topics, questions and preferences. Then students play through the questions with the deck of cards, earning play money and competing for the win.
