To Do List - Daily UI
Prompt: design a to do list or manager.
Need to keep organized? Designing this to do list made me really consider the context. What types of information would people want to track to help them with their schedule? And what could I add to inspire delight and help keep attention on what could be a boring list of tasks that someone is inclined to avoid? I solved these problems by adding an adorable illustration and inspirational (hopefully humorous) quote, along with a few touches to reinforce the theme (the cat paws to add visual weight to high priority tasks and the use of the words "extra attention" which should appeal to those who enjoy the jokes and memes surrounding how insistent cats can be when they can demand attention).
Lesson learned: I used filler information until I realized the most effective use of this template would be as a printed product -- which meant customers would appreciate open spaces to write in their own information. I removed all filler information, including am / pm time indicators under the Schedule section, to keep the design as flexible as possible.
