Mae Jemison

Mae Carol Jemison became the first African American Woman in space on September 12, 1992. Jemison was a Mission Specialist on STS-47. It was her only trip into space. Dr. Mae Jemison continues to inspire people everywhere by speaking on the importance of science and technology. This tribute to bad ass women of history features an illustration of Mae Jemison in space with her famous quote "Never be limited by other people's limited imaginations."
