Parthenope Illustrations

“Parthenope” is an ancient name for the city of Naples, Italy, rooted in legend and myth. According to tradition, the city was named after a mermaid who once graced its shores. This series of illustrations brings to life the rich tapestry of Neapolitan lore, featuring captivating tales such as:

Raimondo di Sangro: The enigmatic alchemist whose dark secrets are shrouded in mystery.

Castel dell'Ovo: The tale of the legendary poet Virgil, who, according to local lore, buried a magical egg under Castel dell’Ovo to safeguard the city’s future.

Palazzo Penne: A chilling tale of supernatural occurrences tied to a mysterious well and daring the devil.

The Witch of Port’Alba: A haunting legend of a sorceress whose presence still lingers in the city’s shadows.

A Bella 'Mbriana: The benevolent spirit of the home who protects and blesses those who honor her.
