HeatCheck — Components

HeatCheck was made to mitigate the everyday impacts of heat waves. We may not be able to solve the core, hard problem of the heat waves themselves — but at least the everyday impact is worth mitigating.

We took cues from the Javanese tradition of putting a water jar in front of one’s house, giving free water for everyone to drink. We thought: what if someone’s unused room could become a heat shelter? What if a business could at least provide free air conditioned rooms and water, and not require people to purchase while inviting them to purchase altogether? Seems like a win-win to us.

What do you think? Do you have any ideas on a possible solution to mitigate the everyday impacts of extreme heat? Let us know in the comments 👇
