Reddit knots ~ Interaction design concept

I noticed a persistent issue with Reddit, Inc.'s thread system in subreddits. I tried to solve this issue and created some cool interactions along the way.

The Problem:

While threads help users maintain context and understand conversation levels, they also take up a lot of screen space, reducing content visibility, especially on mobile devices. Additionally, when threads reach their limit, they load on a new page, disrupting the user flow and causing backtracking.

This design concept introduces a "knots" system where extra threads are tangled into clickable knots, saving screen space.

Pros: Reduces screen usage to 1/6 and is consistent across flows.

Cons: Screen may change dynamically, but user control can mitigate this.
