What is Coffee Bloom?

Coffee bloom refers to the initial phase of brewing when hot water first comes into contact with freshly ground coffee. During this stage, carbon dioxide (CO2) that has been trapped in the coffee grounds starts to escape, causing the coffee bed to expand and bubble up.
