All Bar One Refresh - App Concept

Recently I visited an All Bar One and opened their app and thought that it could use a dash of zest. I noticed inconsistencies in colour, typography and hierarchy. Their website uses various colours and fonts, some fresh and some redundant. It all feels a little like many lego pieces that donโ€™t fit together.

From my experience when doing digital signage all over the UK, it's clear that photography and video are what sell. You guide the viewer and keep it simple, without too many options to feel overwhelming, but just enough options to give freedom.

As another fun exercise, like in other app redesigns, I kept the original tab bar and just used their Montserrat font with a touch of Trajan Pro, reflecting their serif logo.

Other little changes include:

๐Ÿธ Give focus to their imagery.

๐Ÿธ Enhanced typographic hierarchy.

๐Ÿธ Moving main buttons for easy access.

๐Ÿธ Increasing contrast for better readability.

๐Ÿ‘ And more!

Naturally, I could do a deep dive into all the screens and UX but for now little aperitifs I think are enough to get my points across.

Enjoy!
