Hambro Clinic. Injury Recovery App

Designed with the needs of patients in mind, this app offers a range of features to support users on their journey to injury recovery.

At-a-Glance

The high-fidelity prototype for the Hambro Clinic app provides a comprehensive and user-friendly platform to support users who are going through a recovery journey. This design process focused on creating intuitive user flows, high-fidelity wireframes, and a visually appealing interface to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience.

Business Goals

  • Gather valuable data on the recovery progress of various injury patients

  • Attract a wide range of users, including patients, physical therapists, and healthcare providers

  • Improve patient commitment to prescribed recovery exercises

  • Build a trusted brand in the healthcare industry

  • Create marketing strategies targeted at physical therapists and healthcare providers to encourage them to recommend the app to their patients

  • Develop unique selling points such as accessible and user-friendly design, integration with wearable devices, and advanced analytics to differentiate the app from competitors

Process

The design process focused on creating a seamless and accessible platform for injured patients of the Hambro clinic. By understanding the user persona and their challenges, sketching ideas, developing detailed wireframes, and creating high-fidelity prototypes, we aimed to deliver a user-friendly app that supports patients in their recovery journey.

Problem vs Solution

Problem

Injured patients undergoing rehabilitation face challenges in adhering to their recovery regimen and effectively managing their recovery process. They struggle to remember prescribed exercises, track progress accurately, and cope with the physical and emotional demands of recovery. This lack of adherence and engagement can slow down recovery progress and lead to suboptimal outcomes.

Solution

We propose the development of an accessible and user-friendly digital platform tailored for injured patients undergoing rehabilitation. This platform will provide personalized exercise plans, intuitive progress-tracking features, as well as resources for managing stress. By offering a seamless and supportive user experience, the platform aims to improve patient commitment to prescribed exercises and enhance overall engagement in the rehabilitation process, ultimately leading to better recovery outcomes.

Persona and Scenarios

Crafting a persona helped us to see our target users as real individuals, fostering empathy and guiding the design of solutions that precisely meet their unique needs. Furthermore, our user scenarios outline hypothetical situations where our persona interacts with our product, providing insights into users' journeys.

Information Architecture

We structured an information architecture to organize the features required for the course assignment, including Pain Tracking, Diary Inputs, Prescribed Exercises, and Meditation. Additionally, we incorporated Sign-Up and Profile Settings functionalities.

User Flows

For this assignment, we were required to visualize the email sign-up user flow.

Paper First

Sketching the solution is a budget-friendly and fun way to quickly visualize and test ideas. It helps refine and improve concepts, ensuring effective, user-friendly designs.

High Fidelity Prototype

We then brought our concept to life with an interactive digital high-fi prototype.

Key Principles When
Designing

  • Norman's three levels of design

  • Interactive Design

  • Universal Design, accessible to all kind of users

What I Learned

During this project, I learned the importance of prioritizing accessibility considerations and ensuring that the platform is inclusive and user-friendly for all users, regardless of their physical abilities. Building a high-fidelity prototype provided me with the opportunity to refine my prototyping skills. I enjoyed working on this assignment, throughout the process, I remained deeply engaged, striving to maintain precise attention to detail.
