POSTER OF TOLEDO AND QUEEN ISABEL I OF CASTILE, CASTILLA LA MANCHA
Captained by Queen Isabella I of Castile, this poster narrates the main characteristic that made the city of Toledo unique: the peaceful coexistence of the three cultures. On the left-hand side we can see Queen Isabella holding her favourite son, representative of the Christian community, in her arms. Meanwhile, in the lower part of the plate we see two men claiming Isabella's attention, without much success. Thus reflecting the historical moment when the Catholic kings put an end to the coexistence between Jews, Muslims and Christians.
Other nods, such as the key on the back of the Jewish community or the waning moon in the sky, are just some of the stories hidden in this design.
