Can Art Be Objective? See Caption

Can art be objective? 🤔 That’s the question I’m putting out there. I’ve been told art (most) is subjective to the viewer, and I’m here to challenge that idea while keeping the conversation open.

I’ve been reworking an illustration, aiming to make it better, and I’m curious to hear your thoughts. Which one do you think is better? 1 or 2? See below for original/

Here’s a side-by-side comparison for you: 👉 The first image is the new version, and the second is the original. I always felt something was off with the first one. Here’s why I think the new one’s a winner:

Composition: It’s all about balance. The bento scape needs evenly spaced margins between shapes. Trimming the excess gave it a more natural feel, less clunky.

Color: I’ve stuck with this color scheme throughout the series for a reason. They’re meant to complement each other, and you’ll see the full effect when I reveal the entire series.

Texture: I’m adding texture to enhance the series. It’s not just for show; it adds depth and visual interest to each tiny illustration.

So, what’s your take? Was the original better, or do you agree with the changes? Art is subjective, sure, but let’s talk about it. Let me know your thoughts. 🤘
