The Growler Mag - Cover Illustration

A commissioned project for the final cover of The Growler before the world went into lockdown and the publication became digital-only. The assignment was simple; illustrate something that celebrates the resurgence in Belgian Trappist Ales. I tapped into my early creative influences of Catholic church stained glass, and replaced the Biblical characters with a monk brewing beer. Religious iconography also influenced the way i represented water, barley, yeast and hops; the sacred elements of brewing.
