Whale Revisited

🐋⚠️ Vote/See below! Which one do you like best? 1, 2, or 3? Every couple years I revisit this whalescape I drew. Actually the original is from inktober 4-5 years ago. Might as well make this a tradition. So be on the lookout in a couple years.

So why do I do this? I don’t really know. Sometimes it’s nice revisit/rework a piece that I really enjoyed creating. Anyone else do this? 🙋‍♂️

I think the big reason is that I like to see how my style or how I enjoy creating artwork has changed over the years. If you take a look at each piece you’ll see the differences.

For 3, I was hyper-focused on line work/linocut/woodblock type style. For 2, I still incorporated line work but the shading was both line work and grain shading. And finally on 1, lines are gone, completely relying on color and shading for contrast.

So, which one is your favorite? 1, 2, or 3? Super curious and will not be upset if you choose any of them. I still like them all 😂.
