FAHRENHEIT 451

FAHRENHEIT 451

Movie Fahrenheit 451 shows a future world in which the government controls public opinion by banning all literature. A group of guards, known as firemen, help maintain the established order by carrying out the necessary book burning. The film was adapted from Ray Bradbury's best-selling science fiction novel.

The adaptation of the entire book is a direct visual inspiration for the 1966 film rendition. The book is conceived as a movie script and is divided into individual movie scenes instead of chapters.

A striking element is the colour red, which in the illustrations depicts not only the fire destroying all literature, but all surroundings in general, thus symbolising the oppressiveness of this oppressive society.
