But what's the point? There are a few reasons I wanted to make this:

• Sometimes I'm traveling and have texting service but not data (either I'm international and don't want to pay for data, or I'm in the mountains where data is just too slow to use).

• Every once-in-a-while I muse about getting a Light Phone or something dumb like that, but it would be tough to go without searching. Now searching is possible even while disconnected from the distractions of a smartphone.

• I have a weird distain for installing new apps.

• I'm wary of how big tech uses data, but Textile keeps things private.
