Circle Bar
Circle Bar. 1032 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana. Built c. 1883.
As one of the oldest structures on Lee Circle, the architecture of Circle Bar is a mashup of various styles including Greek Revival, Italianate, Second Empire and late Victorian. The building has been through many hands throughout its life including being the office of Dr. Elizabeth Magus Cohen, the first female physician in New Orleans as well as the first woman who was licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana.
Circle Bar is now one of the best spots in town for touring and local musicians, hosting a plethora of groups of all genres since its inception in 1999.
