Bottling Louisiana Luxury: The Paris Bodega Logo Design

Paris Bodega Logo Design by Chase Dyess

Paris Bodega is a soon-to-be favorite shop opening in Pineville, Louisiana. My goal was to create a logo representing the luxury and craftsmanship of European styles while also paying tribute to Louisiana culture. I started by exploring similar boutique brands and French Art Nouveau, known for its opulent motifs.

The fleur de lis, a timeless symbol shared by French and Louisiana arts, felt like a natural choice as the logo’s centerpiece. However, I was concerned about its lack of originality, so I searched for an element to accompany it. I kept envisioning an icon that could serve as a feminine version of the “ship-in-a-bottle,” an object that symbolizes luxury and craftsmanship. Perfume and wine bottles from the Art Nouveau movement were incredibly ornate and had non-traditional shapes. A new emblem took shape when I started combining these visuals with the fleur de lis.

The result feels like a visual story of the European traditions and aesthetics that have influenced Louisiana culture. The design is stylized but has a modern touch that gives it a timeless feel.
