Criterion Collection Citizen Kane

It was both an honor and a momentous task to design the cover for the Criterion Collection's release of Citizen Kane, regarded by many as “the greatest film of all time.” Originally asked to create a collage cover for the disc set, the brief quickly changed and the final cover design focused on the "K" that appears throughout the film as a symbol of wealth, class, and ego. The cover design caused quite a debate online which, to us, felt appropriate seeing as the movie was considered controversial and met with dueling responses at the time of its original release in 1941.
