Academia Paper Page: Killing the PDF

Academic papers have been locked into the PDF format for quite a long time. Getting the figures, formulas, and typesetting converted into a responsive HTML format is really difficult to do at scale.

However, that's what we're currently experimenting with doing. It's super expensive to do but we're hoping we can make the economics work.

I'll be following up to this post with an interactive mock up that includes figures & data inline with the text.
