US tax filing services for tax year 2023
Tax season for businesses in the US typically begins in late January and ends on April 15, depending on the type of business entity.
For Firstbase customers with little to no knowledge about US tax filing or those wishing to focus on the bigger picture of their businesses, we simplified tax filing by guiding them through a series of questions. Then, based on their responses, we provided the most suitable tax filing service regardless of specific business circumstances.
The existing self-service tool for the tax year 2022, designed to assist our customers in completing the forms required by the IRS, was found to be challenging to use.
This time, I collaborated with product, business operations, and accounting folks to understand the following factors that determine a business's tax obligations and compliance requirements:
Owners' residency
Business income level and monthly expenses
Bookkeeping practices
Filing deadlines
This feature update helps customers decide whether to work with our partner tax consultants or to let us manage additional business tax services to alleviate their burden.
