Smiley Mosaic // Motion Design

Created in AE, based on the first lesson in the Motion Foundation course.

While coming up with the designs for each of the nine squares, it was important for me to choose my colors thoughtfully and carefully, since I was only limited to four. One of the rules I laid out early was to always have my three-eyed smiley against an orange background - this helped maintain consistency. Another subtle detail was to have the center button face the squares when the corresponding smiley would appear. Despite the simplicity in shapes, colors and motions, I'm happy with how it turned out and it was exciting to see where my creativity lead me.
