Killer Cards

Killer Cards is a trading card game design with a similar concept to Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh!, but with serial killers. This means that players will get a random amount of cards in a package and try to collect all the best killers.

Players can then battle against one another using their attacks and statuses to decide who the deadlier killer is. Each component of the serial killers’ status relates to the actual killer themselves. For example, the more gruesome and evil killers get a higher brutality rating next to their name at the top of the card. I have illustrated my method for their ratings below to better explain my system.

For my graduating thesis for DCCC, we were asked to make a product for a niche market. I chose to create this playing card series based on people who love true crime. The target market is lovers of true crime and graphic history. Half of Americans enjoy watching true crime tv with 1 out of 3 people admitting that they watch them at least once a week.
