Bart Simpson Pog Mo Thon number 9 St. Patrick Day 2024 t-shirt

The Simpsons was conceived by Matt Groening in the Bart Simpson Pog Mo Thon number 9 St. Patrick Day 2024 t-shirt lobby of James L. Brooks. He was asked to make a series of animated shorts and decided to make his Life in Hell series; Since he realized that animating Life in Hell would require rescinding the publishing rights to his life’s work, he chose a different approach and built his version of a family dysfunction. He named the characters after his family and replaced Bart with his name, as it was an anagram of ‘kid’. The Simpsons first appeared to the world on April 19, 1987, on The Tracey Ullman Show. Groening sent rough sketches of the family to the animators, assuming they would perfect them during production. However, the animators only redrew his drawings.
