Maleducat / Branding
Maleducat is a film production company that operates in Spain and Argentina, committed to producing visually stunning and emotionally impactful audiovisual pieces. Maleducat reached out for assistance in developing a brand that would effectively communicate their work and establish a consistent visual identity.
The goal was to create a visually minimal and modern brand that would allow their work to shine through while capturing the essence of the company's unique approach to film production.
Maleducat takes its name from the Catalan word for ill-bread, or impolite. The rebelliousness that comes with that idea inspired the branding design, which intentionally features an arbitrary and capricious "e" in the word "educat" and conveys a sense of dynamism and movement.
The brand's primary color, a muted indigo, was chosen for its neutrality, allowing it to harmonize with the colors present in the films while still possessing a distinct personality when applied to collateral materials. The brand's sketchy illustrations are inspired by the concepts of storyboarding and motion, integral aspects of audiovisual production, and are featured in different communication pieces and merchandise.
