Concept Product Design for an EdTech platform

Context

hiSofia is an AI-powered SaaS for personalized learning. Currently, it operates as a scientific research project led by a physicist and is developing its technology. This tool can centralize all its material with online educational content related to the mandatory school curriculum of any subject, thus replacing the conventional publishing model.

To develop a successful and competitive product, prioritizing UX/UI at the beginning of a technology project, particularly for a SaaS platform in online education, is crucial. User-centric design ensures that the platform is tailored to the needs and preferences of its users, leading to a more intuitive and enjoyable experience. Early attention to UX/UI also helps reduce iterations and costs by preventing costly redesigns later. Moreover, in the crowded online education market, a well-designed and user-friendly platform provides a competitive advantage, attracting users and fostering higher adoption and retention rates. Additionally, involving users in the design process allows for valuable feedback, facilitating refinement and improvement before launch.

My role

Following the Design Thinking methodology, I was involved in all design stages, from conducting user research and competitor analysis to benchmarking and creating user personas. Based on the technology, I defined user journeys and user flows for both teachers and students, and developed low, mid, and high-fidelity prototypes. Furthermore, I conceptualized the brand name and branding, developed mock-ups, and designed the pitch deck, as the product is presently utilized for investor presentations.

The challenge

The goal was to develop a Concept Product Design platform tailored for students and teachers, starting solely with the technology and progressing to develop the product, branding, and design strategy.
