Travel Recommendations App

Summary

As part of the final project for my UX Academy Foundations certificate, we were tasked to design a travel recommendations mobile app.

Only the prompt, logo, and some starter text were provided. Everything else, from the UI elements and most of the microcopy, was done from scratch.

Having recently visited Azores in summer of 2022, I chose a color palette inspired by the turquoise waters and lush green landscapes of the archipelago.

What I had in mind when designing the app was a community of travelers who love to share their stories.

Main Features

The app centers around recommendations written by fellow travelers on the app.

Users can search by:

• themes

• what's trending

• what's tailored to them

But are also nudged to try out destinations unusual to their preferences....

Destinations

Destinations can range from capital cities, national parks, or historical monuments, each one featuring a hand-picked image and curated description.

Users can look up quick facts about a destination, such as climate, languages spoken, and currency. They can also see popular sights and activities each destination offers.

Travelers can also submit written Stories featuring a destination.

Destinations can be added to a user's list of favorites.
