Moola

I was asked to contribute a poster to the Nifty–50 Project themed around the concept of ‘Money’ in aid of CMHC charity. (More info at bottom)

‘Moola’ is one of my favourite slang words for 'money', but I was also drawn to the arrangement of its letters and appealing forms. It evokes the perception of a large amount of money so I decided to be generous when drawing its curves. The most plausible theory as to its origin seems to be the connection with the Irish term “moll oir’ meaning “pile of gold”.

This is one colour way the other one which is available for bids is at: http://nifty50.sociodesign.co.uk/bidding/40/rob-clarke/moola

Nifty–50 is a poster project organised by Socio Design, London. They invited 50 creatives from around the world to creatively interpret the word ‘Money’.

The fifty posters have been printed as an Edition of One and are being sold through a process of sealed bids on nifty50.sociodesign.co.uk

All proceeds from the project will be going to the Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity.
