Module15-Indesign-Bilingual 2-sided Mail-In Rebate Card
The course for this month is InDesign. The teacher explains things quite thoroughly, starting from the basics. This week's exercise involves creating a promotional card for mailing. The scenario is to "Buy a 500-sheet ream of paper and receive a $2 coupon." To avail the discount, customers must mail their information and some details to the distribution company, which will then mail back the $2 coupon. Given the need for extensive content, small card size, and space for customers to handwrite addresses, it's a bit challenging.
To effectively distinguish content, I decided to abandon the template design and use color blocks to separate different sections. The theme on the merchant's website revolves around environmental conservation and trees, so I added a tree to the card. To highlight the $2 offer, I kept the text minimal and used an owl, symbolizing intelligence, with a tagline emphasizing, "Smart people like you will definitely want this $2 discount."
